Mission & Vision

The journey of the Gopsai Avinandan Sangha Group of Institutions (GASGI) is rooted in relentless determination and a dream to transform lives. Over two decades ago, in the remote, underserved regions of the Jangal-Mahal-bordering undivided Midnapore, Dr. Pravas Ghosh and Mrs. Anindita Ghosh embarked on a mission to empower local communities through vocational education, starting with the establishment of GASPTTI.

What began as a single institution has blossomed into a robust educational ecosystem of ten colleges covering Teacher Education, Technical Education, Management Education, and Healthcare in Our Journey of last 23 years. Today, the children of farmers are engineers, the children of labourers are pharmacists and paramedics, and the children of small shopkeepers are corporate managers and educators.

However, we believe in the philosophy of Kathopanisad -"Charaiveti" - to keep moving forward. Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’s immortal call, "Arise, Awake, and stop not till the goal is reached," we recognised that the pursuit of knowledge does not end with a degree. Witnessing our students' insatiable desire to explore beyond their Master’s programs, we felt compelled to take the next step.

The Genesis of CERD

In the pursuit of knowledge, the ultimate phase is Research - exploring the unknown. To honour this quest and provide a nurturing environment for inquisitive minds, the Centre for Education Research & Development (CERD) was established.
CERD is not just for our own students; it is an open platform for anyone passionate about research. Our core objectives include:

• Building a Research-Driven Ecosystem: Moving beyond a purely teaching-oriented model to align with the vision of NEP 2020, which emphasises transforming India’s education system into a vibrant research hub.
• Continuous Professional Development (CPD): CERD is dedicated to support School Headmasters and Principals in their professional growth, ensuring they are equipped with the latest educational advancements.
• Global Standards: We are committed to elevating the quality of education in the Midnapore region to international standards, bridging the gap between local talent and global research benchmarks.
• Mentorship Excellence: Our initiatives are guided by seasoned educators with extensive research experience, many of whom have already mentored our students to success as established researchers and college professors.
